Garlic late this year

Posted by Alan Singleton on

I usually plant about 100 garlic late April so I can harvest early spring to free up hardens for spring planting.

This year I have been so busy I didn't get around to it until a week ago. This is about the time commercial growers on the Granite Belt plant theirs so it will be interesting to see if the later planting makes any difference.

It is easy to grow, needs plenty of compost and minerals in the first three months. It keeps well, we are still using last years crop.
